Al Vincer stands alone as an Australian percussionist, being renouned in a time of great jazz drummers like Buddy Rich, Louis Belson (who tried to take him to America) and Gene Krupa, who Al famously showed up in a drum solo showcase aboard a cruise ship on Sydney Harbour.
