About Welona

Aust Ch Kowhai Simply Super (imp NZ)Welona Papillons are located in NSW, Australia.  I am Rebecca Grabham, and my interest is in showing and breeding these lovely dogs.  "Welona" was founded in 1960 by my Dad - he had Welsh Corgi Pembroke, and Papillons followed in 1992.

This kennel has made up 71 dogs to their Championship level including the following breeds of dogs:

  • Australian Terrier
  • Miniature Pinscher
  • Yorkshire Terrier
  • Chihuahua (long & smooth)
  • Japanese Chin

I have shown 44 Papillons to Championship level, and 2 to Grand Champion level.

I have imported two Papillons from Sunshoo Kennels (D & C Roe), showing Ch Sunshoo Imared Alert to Best of Breed at Sydney Royal in 1997, and Best in Show at Darwin Expo in July 1999.

I also have imported three Papillons from Kowhai Kennels (M & M Fussell) in New Zealand, achieving Grand Champion with Kowhai Tawny Rose, and Champion with Kowhai Welona Kiwi Dream and Kowhai Bryony Rose At Welona.  Tawny Rose is a Best in Show & Runner Up in Show winner, and has Royal Challenges to her name in five states.

Ch Welona Paddington Bear is also a Best in Show winner.
