Where Chess is Played in the Newcastle Area

Panthers Newcastle

Meets at 7.00 pm until late on Monday evenings at Panthers Newcastle on the corner of King & Union Streets, Newcastle West in the ground floor area of the club near the reception desk and restaurant area. Oasis Eatery

This venue is NOT organised by the NDCA as is Panthers Newcastle, but has became popular because of its European flavour of "Cafe & Street" style chess. Players gather between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm on most Sunday afternoons at the Oasis group of eateries in Hamilton opposite the Kent Hotel. It may be advisable to bring your own chess set (and clock) if contemplating attending.
